Here is our new plane, getting fueled and cleaned

Miami airport and I'm watching because our first plane broke so we moved to a new plane, in a deserted terminal with one closed bar and one closed Pizza Hut hole-in-the-wall. The plan is that this aircraft is at least airworthy. Let's hope so American... Nothing else to do but watch and wait. As I said Monday, I actually really like airplanes, I just hate airlines.

Caltrain cuts are looking bad. You should take action if you *ever* use it. Fwd: Next action - tell your City Council/Supervisor to help stop Caltrain cuts!

Nearly 1900 people have sent letters to decision makers asking them to take action to save Caltrain, including you!

But the Caltrain schedule is still on the chopping block.   Decision-makers are working now on short-term solutions, but we need to keep the pressure on.

* Do you ever need to leave work after 6:30?
* Do you ever need to take the train mid-day?
* Do you take Caltrain nights, weekends, or Giants games?
* Do you depend on any of these stops?  Bayshore, South San Francisco, San Bruno, Burlingame, Hayward Park, Belmont,  San Antonio, Lawrence,  Santa Clara, Tamien, Capitol,  Blossom Hill, Morgan Hill,  San Martin, Gilroy
* Does your business depend on shoppers or employees who take the train?

If so, your service is at risk.  But these drastic cuts can be prevented. The next 4 weeks are crucial, and things are moving fast.

Here are the top actions you can take now to save Caltrain.

1) Contact your city council person or supervisor.  Tell them to talk to people they know on your local transit boards and the MTC and demand urgent action on short-term solutions to prevent cuts.

2) If you haven't done this already, click here to sign a petition to MTC asking them to act urgently on some proposed short-term solutions that they specifically have control over. Groups like the MTC don't typically get lots of citizen feedback. Your input is noticeable and really helps!

3) Go to a decision-maker meeting - the updated schedule is here.  Attend the next Caltrain board meeting on March 3 at 10am at 1250 San Carlos Street, or a critical MTC meeting on March 23 at 101 Eighth Street, Oakland at 9:30 am. Urge them to find solutions and prevent drastic cuts.  Click here for tips if you plan to go to one of these meetings.

4) Keep printing and handing out flyers during your daily commute, and at work, and community meetings, to alert other riders and supporters. We need all 40,000 daily Caltrain riders to join the movement to save Caltrain.

5) Forward this message to a friend so they can take action too!

Thanks again for taking action! We'll keep you posted on a regular basis about the next steps you can take. Working together we can save Caltrain.

Best,

Adina Levin and the Friends of Caltrain team

This is great, proactive customer service. Fwd: Plancast error fixed

Got this, without asking, from Plancast today. First time I'd logged back in after several months was yesterday - and immediately I ran into an error.

Obviously Plancast have great metrics; they noticed, fixed it, and alerted those of us attempting to use the site during this period. Good stuff guys.

Hi there,

We noticed in our error logs that you were among a handful of users who ran into a problem while trying to complete the Plancast activation flow sometime within the last 12 hours.

Firstly, I wanted to say sorry for any frustrations that may have caused -- we made a coding mistake yesterday that caused that issue. Secondly, I wanted to let you know the error has been fixed so you can now access your account by going here:

Simply click the "Finish" link at the bottom of that page and you'll be taken to the homepage. Of course, I'd recommend you select a few categories first so you get the most out of our new design.

If you have any questions or feedback, please let me know!

Have a nice weekend,

Mark Hendrickson
